What’s Happening On The Sonny Side

This past Saturday and Sunday was time well spent with Brethren. Saturday Charles Beavers, Ted Davis, Greg Harper, William Huggins, Mike Prestage, and myself spent the morning and part of the afternoon at the Bethel Berry congregation. We attended a “Men’s Day” with topics of discussion being about “Growing Strong In Christ.” We were feed a diet of good teaching and yes, we had a good lunch, too. There were 28 men present. We are making plans to make this an annual third Saturday in January date.

Saturday afternoon Jackie and I enjoyed being with the class I teach on Sunday morning. We had soups and stews. And there were plenty of deserts, also. We didn’t do anything except eat and talk.

Sunday after worship some of us met again to eat lunch together. We had so much food left over from Saturday evening that there was plenty for another meal. Again, the fellowship was enjoyed.

To all who made Saturday and Sunday special days for me, I say, “Thank You.”

I am looking forward to our “Birthday Celebration” this Sunday after evening worship. This is an annual event that everyone really enjoys. Those who decorate tables do a great job.

Those who bake cakes and bring the many other deserts do a tremendously good job.

Annual church events are part of an active congregation.

Glad to see that Eastwood has a website. Many times we search the local congregations for upcoming events. We can now keep in touch with the local community and let them know what is going on at Eastwood. Hope to read about how CYC went this year. Keep up the good work and continue to update all events at Eastwood.
