What’s Happening On The Sonny Side
This past week Justin left for Mexico. I was supposed to go myself but because of a couple good reasons I decided to not go. Now I wish I had. When I was preaching at Petersville they wouldn’t let me go because either Ben Hayes or myself had to be in town. This was Ben’s work so I had to stay home. I complained and complained but to no avail…. it was Ben’s trip and I couldn’t go. Three years down the road I had the opportunity but didn’t take it.
Life is weird sometimes. The things we think we just have to do we find that there are things that get in the way. But life goes on.
How is life running for you? Are doing the things that need to be done? Are you living for the kingdom of God’s sake or, are you waiting on the kingdom to do for you. So many seem to want the kingdom to do for them. Life goes on!

Yes, no Mexico trip this year. Yes, life can be weird, but don’t feel bad, you’re in very good company in this circumstance. I know that several times Paul desired to be one place or another (and for very good reasons) but wasn’t able to go due to circumstances. In every case, however, Paul was able to take those circumstances and use them to the glory of God. We are fortunate that Justin was able to go (very much like young Timothy on an errand for Paul). I find it interesting to note that, if we really pay attention, we can see most of the challenges faced by those of the church in the 1st century still being challenges today. The really great thing is that godly brothers and sisters responded to those challenges, and gave us the account in the scriptures, so that now all we need to do is follow their example. Sometimes God really wants us to make lemonade. That’s why we get the lemons.
